Privacy

This page says what the site records, in plain words. Short version: downloading a chart records nothing about you, the sign-up form records your email address on our server, and Amazon links take you to Amazon, which has its own privacy policy.

Downloading charts

The charts are plain files. Downloading one needs no account, no email and no form. Your paper size and ink choice on the download pages are remembered in your own browser (local storage) so the buttons stay the way you set them. That setting never leaves your device.

The sign-up form

When you enter an email address on the home page, our server writes one line to a file that only the site owner can read: the time, the email address, the page the form was on, whether the device was a phone or a computer, and a short code made from your internet address that changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address. We use it to know how many people sign up and to stop abuse of the form. We do not send a newsletter unless you ask for one, we do not sell or share the list, and nothing is emailed to you by the form.

The name sticker builder

The sticker sheet and charts with your child's name are made inside your browser. The name is not saved on our server. It does appear in the address of the download page while you are on it, and like any web address it can show up in our hosting company's standard server logs, which keep visiting addresses for a limited time.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no advertising cookies. It runs Google Analytics 4, which records the pages you view, the links and buttons you use, the site that sent you here, your browser and device, and an approximate location worked out from your internet address. We see aggregate reports, not who you are. Google explains its side in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on stops it in any browser. Our hosting company keeps ordinary server access logs (the address a request came from, the page asked for, the time) for security and error checking.

Amazon links

Links to Amazon carry our affiliate tag, as explained on the affiliate disclosure page. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy notice applies. Amazon does not tell us who you are or what you bought.

Children

The site is written for parents and teachers. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The only personal detail the site ever asks for is an adult's email address on the sign-up form.

Your records

If you signed up and want the line with your email address removed, ask through the contact form and it will be deleted from the file.
